Visual Studio ctrl + F5 console closes

If you downloaded and installed Microsoft Visual Studio and compiled your first program just to discover that the console will close really fast, you may have googled and found that a solution to this is by pressing ctrl + F5. The difference is that F5 will run your application in debug mode while ctrl + F5 will run your application in release mode. However, if it's still not working, this may be the solution for you.

First, right click on your project and choose Properties.

Expand Linker in the window that popped up and navigate to System.

Change Configuration to "All Configurations" and SubSystem to Console (/SUBSYSTEM:CONSOLE)

Click Apply and OK.

Let me know if it worked, or if you found another solution to this problem!
